A mainline telehandler was used to rip out an ATM machine from Nationwide Building Society, on Market street in Ashby. The Bobcat telehandler plowed in to the building causing extensive damage, allowing a gang of robbers to make off with a large amount of cash.

It is believed that the machine was stolen from a building site nearby. The robbery occurred at around 3 am in morning on Monday 10th July. The ATM was lifted on to a pick-up truck, which was used as a getaway vehicle after they ditched the telehandler.
