What the Course Covers

Theory Session One – Tachographs
•Introduction to the correct use of digital and analogue tachographs
•Reading and understanding the information provided on the Tachograph charts

Theory Session Two – Drivers’ hours regulations
• Driver’s responsibilities for maintaining records of hours under the European Working Hours Directive
• Calculating driving hours, break times, duty hours to comply with the directive

What the Course Covers

By the end of the Course

Delegates should be able to:
• Explain the use of a digital Tachograph
• Explain the use of the analogue, paper Tachograph
• Read the output from both types of Tachograph
• Define driving hours, duty hours, periods of availability and other work
• Calculate hours based on the definitions
• Explain the penalties for failing to comply with regulations

Note: This course is recognised as part of the Drivers CPC Periodic Training requirements and counts towards 35 hours of training under the scheme.
