Energy Waste Facility Development

The Project:

We were hired to provide the necessary equipment to assist in the development of a new ‘Energy from Waste’ facility.
The facility will generate 18MWe utilising non-recyclable refuse derived fuels whilst eliminating 169,000 tonnes per year of refuse from landfills.

Our Client:

A reputable and highly specialised company dedicated to the design and installation of scaled, optimised energy networks across the UK. Our client is focused on helping businesses reduce their carbon footprint while minimising energy costs.

The Challenge:

We were commended the task of providing all plant and access equipment as well as providing some very specific tools, both for hire and purchase. We were to work closely with the client’s team, punctually meeting all requirements in pre-booked orders, but also offering fast and responsive support for any unforeseen eventualities.

Our Approach:

We worked closely with our client at every stage, from planning to execution, to select the right equipment for each task from our varied range. We were able to ensure timely provision of all machinery as well as the support of highly skilled and qualified machine operators and CAP trained engineers.
Utilising our advantage of being located only six miles from the customer’s site, we were able to streamline response time and deliveries.

The machinery used for this project includes the following:

Powered Access:

43.15 Metre Genie Z135/70 Diesel Cherry Picker.
12.52 Metre Genie Z-34/22 Bi-Energy Self Propelled Cherry Picker.
27.7 Metre Genie S85 Diesel Cherry Picker.

Tool Hire:

Dehumidifier Complete With Humidity Reader.
Wacker Plate (Vibrating Plate).
2” Poker Unit.
36” Power Float.
Podium Steps.
Staging Boards (Youngman Boards).

Plant Hire:

14m Telehandler.
8x4ft Road Plates.
1.5 T Mini Excavator.
1T Thwaites Skip Loading Dumper.
Vertical Mast Lighting Towers.

Power Generation:

110kva Generator, complete with distribution board and leads.

In order to meet everyday lighting requirements we provided a 110 kva static generator with 125 amp power outputs to assist in temporarily powering the substation, pending the commissioning of a stable power supply.

Our Summary:

We were proud to have been our client’s trusted exclusive supplier for tools and access equipment for the duration of this project.
We have been involved in a number of similar projects with this contractor on several sites. We are also proud to be involved in a project that offers a solution to our excess waste problem whilst providing an alternative source of energy.
