Live Installation Project
Our client, a reputable modular housing designer and creator who was focused mainly on manufacturing, was embarking on their first live installation project.
The project consisted in the assembly and fitting of a number of bespoke modular homes on a site in the Midlands; a fast paced project aimed at delivering finished and fitted homes, ready to be moved into.
Mainline enjoys a long standing relationship with this customer, regularly providing them with site maintenance equipment such as the S85 boom (used for overhead crane inspections), lighting towers (for additional illumination in their yard) and 12 m electric booms (ideal for reaching modular buildings two stories high).
The fact that this was the first project of its kind undertaken by our client meant that extra attention to detail was a priority at the planning stage. We worked hand in hand to ensure that all the correct access equipment and machinery was made available for each task and that no circumstance was overlooked.

To study our client’s project and to provide all the necessary access equipment, bearing in mind that some machines would have to use the road to access different parts of the site.
Also, to provide heaters, dehumidifiers, fans and other equipment around the site and to offer an efficient and cost effective power supply solution for these units.
As an access solution, Mainline provided a 14 m road legal telehandler which was able to meet the project requirements.
Our client also required several heaters, dehumidifiers, a 30” industrial fan with dual voltage and wet-vacs. These items all needed different power supplies, ranging from 240 v to 32 amp and had to be moved around the site as needed.
Although the initial idea was to have one small generator per unit, this did not seem cost effective or efficient as it would be time consuming to move them around.
We conducted a site survey to gain perspective of the layout and we resolved this issue by supplying a 1 x 50 kva skid mounted generator along with distribution boards. This kept the site tidy and allowed for straight forward use and movement of the related equipment.
Other equipment Mainline provided included an aluminium tower scaffold with a working height of 10.2 m and a 500 l static fuel bowser in order to refuel machines onsite, optimising machine operation times.
