Sport Relief 2018Posted March 28, 2018
Established in 2002, Sport Relief is a day full of sports and entertainment. People all across the country get involved in order to raise money for vulnerable people in the UK and the world’s poorest countries. At Mainline, we love to support a good cause and of course we love to have fun as well, so we did a few things to get involved and raise some money.
On Friday 23rd March employees had the chance to come in dressed as their sporting icon, and of course there are a few people in the office that love to dress up. We had Freddie Flintoff, Steven Gerrard and the Karate Kid to name a few! Mainline employees had the chance to showcase their baking skills at the Mainline bake sale. It didn’t take long before all of the chocolate, lemon drizzle and carrot cake was gone!
The main talking point for the day was about how many steps Paralympian Jonnie Peacock would take in a day. Everyone got involved in the Sport Relief sweepstake where they could win a prize but nobody was close to guessing the 9115 steps that Jonnie Peacock tracked. Workshop/ Site technician, Casey Jackson, came closest with his guess of 33,000 steps giving him bragging rights for the rest of the day.
