On Saturday 20 November, Royal Trinity Hospice celebrated their 130th anniversary and their outstanding palliative care with their Gala dinner at Old Billingsgate in the City of London. Hosted by Trinity patron Huw Edwards, and with celebrity auctioneer Charlie Ross, the evening was packed with entertainment, whilst raising funds for Trinity’s vital care. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the guests on the night, Trinity has raised a phenomenal £600,000.  Mainline was honoured to be part of the evening and support such a well-deserved charity.

Royal Trinity Hospice is the local hospice for south west and central London and serves a community of over 750,000 people. Trinity provides free specialist palliative and end-of-life care to over 2,400 people every year at their inpatient unit, and out in the community, wherever people call home. Trinity is the oldest hospice in the UK and for the last 130 years they have moved mountains to deliver outstanding care to thousands of Londoners with life-limiting illnesses.

At Trinity, every moment matters. The staff go above and beyond to help their patients and their families live every moment they have left. The staff help patients to manage the changing physical, emotional, spiritual and practical impact of their diagnosis from the moment they are diagnosed until the end of their life. Afterwards, there is also support for patients’ loved ones for as long as they are needed.

Trinity’s care is provided completely free of charge. They must raise around £11m every year to supplement the contribution it receives from the NHS. This target is met through the generosity of Trinity’s supporters who fundraise, donate, and shop at the hospice’s charity shops.
